It is with a heavy heart and great sadness we learned last night of the death of our esteemed committee member, referee and past player, Paul McKeever.
Paul has been an integral part of our club since his playing days, when he was part of the historic Stinsons 4 in a row Minor teams, as well as representing Antrim at Minor and U21.
Off the field Paul was one of the driving forces in making our facilities some of the best in Ulster. His straight talking and honesty were always evident in committee meetings.
Some years back Paul took up refereeing and it wasn’t long before he progressed to become one of the best in Antrim & Ulster, representing Casements with great distinction on the national level.
Paul was also heavily involved in coaching our underage, including his sons, Ryan & Conor. His passion & determination would reflect in the teams he coached, most notably the U8’s who remain unbeaten, winning numerous tournaments throughout Ulster.
Paul was a passionate Casements clubman and a massive loss to us all but most importantly to his family. To Nicola, his sons Ryan and Conor and daughter Erin, and the entire McKeever family we extend our deepest sympathies.
A Thiarna, deán trócaire air.
